Painting Chromatic Ascent

A highly textured impasto painting capturing a dramatic, low-angle view looking up the trunk of a birch tree. The thick, prominent trunk dominates the foreground, rendered with heavy, sculptural palette knife strokes in stark white, pale grey, and deep, contrasting black horizontal fissures. The branches spread outward and upward, holding a vibrant canopy of autumn foliage created with thick, chunky dabs of deep crimson, bright orange, and golden yellow paint. The warm, dynamic textures of the tree stand out sharply against a vivid, bright blue sky in the background.
